AT&T spokesman Seth Boom says this “is about ensuring that our employees are treated with respect and not subjected to verbal abuse…and ensuring they’re able to help all of our customers. It’s also designed to be used in extreme cases and would only happen after multiple incidents and warnings." “We’re not saying customers can’t get upset. This is about truly extreme and abusive situations.”
What constitutes an "extreme and abusive situation" is too objective for those who actually want to stay with their provider. This is all actually a precaution for the changes they will be making to people's service plans in May. According to their spokes person, in an interview on Broadband Reports,“the company will be implementing a new 150GB monthly usage cap for all DSL customers and a new 250 GB cap on all U-Verse users starting on May 2.” They know this will piss people off so they are making sure they don't have to deal with the storm coming their way. Sprint and Verison are looking better and better, especially if you're an online gamer.
